Have you ever thought, "I'm too old to wear that" or "that's too revealing"? Then, based on thoughts like that, have you put aside an outfit that you actually really loved? If you've been in this situation, you are not alone. My name is Mary, and I used to stop myself from wearing certain outfits all the time. Then, I realised that I was only going to live once, and I decided to throw caution to the wind and wear what appealed to me the most. In this blog, I plan to give tips and ideas related to beauty and fashion, but more importantly than that, I hope to give you the confidence you need to really embrace unique fashions. Enjoy!
You may be familiar with the song lyrics 'Beauty school dropout. No graduation date for you'. That comes from the popular musical Grease starring Australia's own Olivia Newton John. It's a fun song, but if you're thinking about beauty school, you may be worried that those lyrics may come true.
Don't worry. There are lots of steps you can take to ensure that you never become a beauty school drop out. Try these tips.
1. Pick the Right Time
Some times in your life are just perfect for going back to school, but other times are less than ideal. Before you embark on your beauty school journey, make sure that you have the time to devote to it. If you are planning on getting married, having a baby or making another big change in your life, you may want to wait.
2. Make a Financial Plan
Once you've established that this is the right time for this endeavour, you need to think about your finances. You have to consider whether or not you can afford the tuition and fees, but that's not all. You also need to ensure that you can afford to spend the time in classes.
Going to beauty school is an investment in your future earning potential, but if you're currently working full time, you may not be able to afford devoting time to beauty school instead of working. You need to create a plan around that.
For instance, if you still need money coming in, you may want to arrange to go to beauty school part time so that you can also work part time. Alternatively, if you are taking out a loan to go to school, you may want to borrow additional funds to cover living expenses.
3. Shadow for a Day
There are a lot of different beauty schools, and you need to choose the right one for your personality. To really get a sense of what each school is like, you may want to see if you can shadow an existing student for the day. Shadowing is when you basically follow around an existing student for the day.
4. Work With Your Advisors
Once you get started, make sure to check in with your advisors regularly. They can help you choose the right classes and ensure that you are getting the most of your experience. Working with them can help you avoid becoming a beauty school drop out.
5. Choose a Speciality
Finally, to avoid dropping out, you need to take steps to stay engaged. Consider choosing a specialty that really ignites your passion. That could be skin care, hair styling, hair removal or whatever appeals to you.Share
